The Art Of Being Awesome

Ironically, the most truly interesting and charismatic people often couldn’t give a chocolate frog about the opinions of others. But for the rest of us, a little guidance is needed. How can we master the Art of being truly Awesome?
1) Awesome people maintain their charisma. They have a dignity and depth to their personalities which is enhanced by not revealing too much, too soon. To this end they are rarely to be found found posting endless pouting pictures of themselves on Facebook or constantly Tweeting etc. They keep up with social media, but use it judiciously and sparingly- posting an interesting photo or a thought provoking comment rather than journaling every mundane event in their lives. This is because they are in fact too busy living awesome lives and plotting their next adventure to be bothered to maintain false and shallow versions of themselves online.
2) Awesome people have talents and hobbies. They may not even be particularly talented people to start with, but they choose an activity or pursuit and regularly practise it. The more obscure or unusual the talent or hobby the better- and the easier it is to be considered an expert. Think about it, if you specialise in something obscure you will have less competition and more individuality.
When you choose your hobby think about the person you want to become, what sort of hobby you will actually enjoy, and how you can play to your natural strengths. The guitar is actually a very difficult instrument to master, for instance, so if you know deep down that you are not remotely musical don’t be led astray by your Rock God dreams- a talented writer, artist, or chess player is just as awesome.
3) Awesome people have integrity. They don’t just blandly agree with everyone. They are great conversationalists when they want to be because they are not afraid to challenge others and debate difficult, even taboo subjects. In the same way, they are confident enough to stand up for others if they are being bullied or mistreated.
4) Awesome people are full of surprises. This is because they like to try new things and are brave enough to embrace opportunities that are offered to them. They are interesting people because rather than spending lots of their time watching people do exciting things on the television, they would prefer to be out there experiencing life themselves.
Because they are full of surprises and will try anything once, an Awesome person appreciates individuality. They never laugh at or look down on others with unusual hobbies, interests, or beliefs.
5) Awesome people express themselves in their outward appearance. They look good, but different. They find their own unique style and don’t just blindly wear the same as everybody else just because a fashion house aggressively markets a new look. And they don’t let their physical appearance consume them- it’s only the wrapper after all.
The zen state of Awesome awaits. :)
