A Quick Note on magic Curses, their actual usefulness, and the ethics of…
I was asked the other day about magic curses – whether they worked, whether they rebounded on you, karma etc. – and it did raise some interesting questions.
The subject of so called “black magic” has always been a very debatable issue.
Many witches or wizards acknowledge that “black magic” spells do exist and are very strongly against them, claiming that any curse or ill intentioned magic spell will rebound on the spell caster threefold.
A smaller minority of witches and wizards maintain that “black magic” spells not only exist but they claim to use them to bring power and riches upon themselves, often at the expense of others.
Other witches and wizards claim that magic is a neutral power that cannot be attached to either qualities of good or evil. It is simply a chaotic tool that simply finds the quickest route to the end result of the magic spell caster, and thus cannot be controlled in such a way which would result in controlled “curses” etc.
You see, it is quite a complicated issue –
and magic – not unlike many religions – has many different subcultures and
routes by which a relatively similar effect is achieved through magic spells.
Where do we stand on the issue of “black magic” spells?
Well, it’s quite simple.
We don’t believe that there is such a thing as “black magic” spells. Not because magic is neither good nor bad but because the relaxed and optimal mental state (sometimes called Ataraxia) required to create true magic spells is not compatible with negativity and clouded thought.
To summon the creative mental state required for magic spells a witch or wizard must be disciplined, focused, and positively motivated. They must align themselves with a grander and nobler dimension. Otherwise it is simply not real magic.
Furthermore there is the question of free will.
Since we believe that true magic spells use the
subconscious mind to manipulate the events surrounding you, it stands to reason
that you will never magically have negative power over another specific human being. You
can influence them physically, possibly, but never through the use of magic
spells unless it is also for their own highest good or they have given you psychic permission.
By throwing curses, you will at best, waste time; at worst, cloud and pollute your mind with unproductive thoughts which will negatively affect your magic spells and your own life.
So, in a way, in our opinion, there is actually some kind of truth in the law of threefold return – just not exactly in the traditional sense.
If you must have revenge, have it, by all means, but do it with your own two hands. Magic spells are too fine and subtle a tool for this base work.
Oh But I Still Long For The Dark Side!
Without trying to sound like a prat on a soapbox…
If you find that you are truly drawn to the dark side of magic then you might find it useful to explore your desires for power over others, admiration, Glamour etc. in some healthy outlet. We all have them. It is often the reason we are drawn to magic in the first place – intense ambition, a rich emotional life, and a lust for glory – own it, don’t be shy!
It’s a damn shame but throwing thunderbolts
and riding dragons are probably only reserved for other dimensions, but with
the aid of a certain amount of fantasy and set dressing – incense, cloaks,
daggers, skulls etc. It is possible to feel Very Badass Indeed; whilst actually
performing extremely powerful and positive magic spells.
If you still want to wallow in the dark side then I can heartily recommend Anton LaVey’s, The Satanic Bible for a fascinatingly different interpretation on life and magic!
Just please, don’t waste energy on magic curses, they genuinely don’t work – trust me…If they did I’d be doing them myself… (evil cackling)
P.s And never, ever forget – the sweetest revenge of all is having a way more awesome life than your Nemesis…And the best way to achieve this? Forget them! Don’t give away your psychic energy. Save it for better things.
P.P.S Someone claims to have cursed you? Worried? Don’t be! Laugh in their face! The only power a curser ever has is when the cursee believes in it and self destructs with their own fear. Period. Do a protection spell if it makes you feel better – but it is by no means necessary.
