Yule Magical Essentials For Witches And Wizards: A Magic Spell of Ash and Fire

Jump kick your 2015 with this powerful Yule Spell for prosperity in the year ahead. The magic spell is inspired by the ancient tradition of the Yule Log, a special log which was burned during the darkest and coldest nights of winter by our ancestors millennia before the advent of Christmas etc. The witch or wizard who casts this spell will insure wealth and prosperity in the coming months.
Yule is the time to reflect on the previous seasons, relax, and begin to lay the groundwork for Imbolc, when your carefully laid plans will begin to grow. This special magic spell is particularly intended to attract material wealth in the coming year.
A Magic Spell of Ash and Fire
Aim of the magic spell: To bring you wealth and prosperity in the year ahead.
Ideal time for a witch or wizard to cast this magic spell: Yule/The Winter Solstice! Ideally this takes place between the 21st and the 22nd of December, but any time during the Christmas/New Year period is close enough.
Inventory a witch will need for the magic spell:
A fireplace
A Sharp knife or Athame
A log of either Ash or Oak wood.
A candle, ideally green. (Green is symbolically associated with abundance, wealth, success, and the Goddess or Mother Earth – it is considered a lucky colour.)
8 Holly leaves (The number 8 is traditionally associated with success and achievement of desires in Numerology)
8 Holly Berries if available
Casting the magic spell
1) Carve the word “PLENTY” upon your log of Ash or Oak. Alternatively, if the wood is very hard or if you prefer it, carve the Norse rune "Fehu" or cattle, which represents abundance of material possessions and wealth.
2) Place your log upon the fire. Arrange the 8 Holly leaves on top of it (Holly is traditionally associated with the Holly King or the Horned God, who is a hunter and provider and represents action and virility.)
3) Set fire to your log and the Holly Leaves.
4) When the fire has cooled, collect the ash.
5) Cast a circle in your preferred manner.
6) Carve your name on the side of your green candle. Light it, saying-
“You are named for me, blessed be!”
7) Sprinkle half of your ash around your lighted candle, say, confidently-
“I summon wealth today.
No storm can wash away!
As Holly grows, prosperity flows…
By ash and fire,
Grant my desire!“
8) Now place your remaining ash upon your doorstep or threshold. Scatter your 8 Holly berries (if you have them) into your garden, or somewhere else where they have the chance to grow or be picked up by an animal or bird.
9) Say – “So mote it be!” and close the circle in your customary manner.
